Sports & Physical Education

Sport is an important part of developing the whole human. Students build physical confidence while discovering activities that bring enjoyment, challenge and a sense of belonging.

Through sport, swimming, dance, martial arts, fitness and recreational activity, students develop teamwork, discipline, resilience and self-awareness. Those who want to compete can develop specialist skills and represent the school. We want every student to find a positive and lasting relationship with movement, challenge and physical wellbeing.

Participation, performance and progress

Students develop physical skills alongside discipline, resilience, teamwork, communication and self-awareness. They learn to set goals, practise with purpose, respond to feedback and persevere when progress is not immediate.

Those who want to compete have opportunities to represent the school, develop specialist skills and pursue higher levels of performance.

The character of competition

Competition teaches students to prepare, commit, manage pressure and respond when things do not go their way. We encourage determination without losing perspective, and success without losing humility.

Our ambition is not to make every child an athlete. It is to help every student find a meaningful relationship with movement and understand physical wellbeing as part of a flourishing life.
